Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya held a major diplomatic meeting on Friday, discussing issues of shared interest and emphasising strengthening the two countries’ longstanding partnership.
The discussion, which took place during Minister Naqvi’s trip to Turkey, addressed a number of issues, such as economic cooperation, regional security, and the return of Pakistani detainees who are presently being held in Turkey.
Strengthening ties between Pakistan and Turkey, which both presidents characterised as having their roots in a common history, culture, and religion, was the main topic of conversation.
Minister Naqvi commended the two nations’ long-standing fraternity and pointed out that their cooperation is gradually developing into a long-term strategic alliance.
Minister Naqvi brought up the subject of three Pakistani inmates held in Turkey during the meeting.
