Murtaza Solangi, Minister of Information, Broadcasting, and Parliamentary Affairs, declared on Wednesday that the new National Assembly’s first session would be called in compliance with the law. In response to questions from the media about the process for calling a new National Assembly outside of Pakistan’s Election Commission, Solangi stated, “I need to sign the summary for the NA session as I also hold the portfolio of Minister for Parliamentary Affairs.” According to the minister, the ECP was mandated by law to release official results within 14 days of the polls. He said that the president could call a meeting of the National Assembly within 21 days of the election date in accordance with the Constitution.
