A resolution strongly denouncing the awful and sad mob lynching episodes that have occurred recently in different parts of the nation was voted by the National Assembly (NA) on Sunday.
The resolution, proposed by Azam Nazeer Tarar, the Law Minister, stressed that the right to life is the most prized freedom guaranteed by the Pakistani Constitution. “Every person is to be dealt with in accordance with the law and not otherwise,” it said.
The House noted with extreme concern that there has been an increase in the mob lynchings of individuals in Swat and Sargodha who are alleged to have committed crimes. “Such actions cannot be tolerated in any civilised society,” it stated.
NA encouraged the federal and local governments to guarantee every citizen’s safety and security.
