Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, the president of Iran, declared on Monday that Iran and Pakistan are committed to combating terrorism and other forms of instability that pose a threat to both nations as well as the larger region.
Following a three-day visit to Pakistan, the Iranian president made these comments at a joint press conference with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad.
“Both of our countries share a number of common positions and stances. For example, in the fight against terrorism, we are committed to combating organised crime, drugs, and various forms and manifestations of insecurity that pose a threat to both of our countries as well as the region,” stated President Raisi.
Prime Minister Shehbaz resolved to turn the two nations’ border region into a thriving, developed sector.
He emphasised, “This opportunity must be used for the betterment of the people in both countries.”
The prime minister also expressed gratitude to Iran for its firm stance against the mistreatment of Muslims in Gaza.
“Today, there is continued disregard for the Security Council’s resolution on Palestine. In addition to appreciating the Iranian republic for speaking up for the oppressed people of Kashmir, he said, “All Muslim countries should raise their voices unitedly until a complete ceasefire in Gaza.”
