Muhammad Asim Jilani calls for across the board accountability

Chichawatni: Muhammad Asim Jilani Dhillon, Advocate, former General Secretary, Bar Association Chichawatni, while talking to journalists, lawyers and civil society people, said that the heads of all institutions of the state and politicians should present themselves to the public for accountability. All the foreign aid and loans received by the country must be accounted for; the billions of dollars of debt that the country has accrued must be accounted for in the true sense. The TV building and all the institutions are being mortgaged against more foreign loans, the country’s valuable assets are being sold, on the words of the IMF, the oppressed people are being attacked by inflation. The IMF must play its role to bring back the looted wealth of the elite, agricultural land is increasingly being colonized, the country is facing severe food shortages, and the state suffering from the worst economic instability, the elite is busy filling coffers and closing cases, each other for seventy-five years. But accusations are going on, no one is ready to give an account of their actions and wealth, now the time has come; now all things should be accounted for in the people’s court, and the people must set the standard of justice now.
