Many in the UK were expecting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to announce a boycott of Spotify before issuing a statement on Sunday.
British journalists and royalists are not happy that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not decided to boycott the company.
The couple’s statement came after singer, songwriter Neil Young and Johnny Mitchell announced the removal of their music from Spotify in protest that the popular streaming service had allowed the broadcast of false information about the COVID-19 vaccine. ۔
Commenting on Harry and Meghan’s statement, Royal Envoy Richard Palmer said, “Harry and Meghan are not currently boycotting Spotify with Neil Young and Johnny Mitchell.”
Richard Eden, Daily Mail Diary Editor, said “That’s a relief! Harry and Meghan can hold on to their Spotify millions.”
CNN’s London anchor Max Foster said, “Prince Harry and Meghan not boycotting Spotify … yet.”
