Media is a crucial pillar of the state: Minister

Attaullah Tarar, Minister of Information, Broadcasting, National  Heritage, and Culture, congratulated the newly elected Pakistan  Broadcasters Association (PBA) office bearers and emphasised the  importance of a free and active media in bolstering democracy. The media is an important pillar of the state, Tarar said, adding that he hoped the recently elected authorities will do their part to  support the media sector. He said that the government would keep up its efforts to support the nation’s media institutions’ freedom, growth, and promotion. He also congratulated other recently elected officials, such as  Finance Secretary Azhar Qazi, Joint Secretary Ahmed Zuberi, and  Secretary General Shakeel Masood.
