MCSTSI criticizes govt’s economic policies

Multan. President of Multan Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industry (MCSTSI) Sheikh Faisal Saeed has said that according to media reports, the rulers have decided to put a burden of more than 400 billion rupees on the public, which will increase more inflation, the poor and the middle class will crush. In a statement, he said that 237 billion rupees will be collected from the public in four months, which is a huge amount, already the average price of a unit of electricity is about 27, excluding the fuel price adjustment and the 17 percent tax. According to reports, the per unit price of electricity will be increased from Rs 3.3 to Rs 15.52, adding Rs 7 to the electricity bills of domestic consumers, per unit will increase, Rs 3.30 per unit electricity subsidy given to farmers for tube wells has also been abolished.  Now they will get electricity for about 16 rupees. He said that the government has started implementing the preconditions imposed by the IMF to restore the agreement. All the chambers are considering preparing a common plan of action on this. It is sad that the decisions for the nations have been placed in the hands of the IMF.
