Nine terrorists, including the mastermind and seven facilitators, were detained by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Thursday. The attack on the security forces’ facility in Dera Ismail Khan earlier this month resulted in the deaths of at least 23 troops. The mastermind behind the terrorist attack is from the Daraban neighbourhood of DI Khan, while the other six terrorists involved in the attack are from Afghanistan, according to the CTD records that Geo News has access to. Documents show that the terrorist who carried out the suicide attack, Hasan alias Shakir, is from Afghanistan. He also released a video prior to the attack. Sifat Ullah Marwat, the other suicide bomber who was killed in the attack, also had a national identity card and a residence, which further supported the claim that the attacker is from the neighbouring nation.
