Maryam Nawaz, the Senior Vice-President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the first woman to hold the esteemed position as Punjab’s chief minister in the nation’s history, has promised the people of the province that she will “live up to” their expectations in her role as the province’s chief executive. The hopeful chief minister of Punjab praised the people on Wednesday at a meeting in Lahore for giving her party “the mandate” and making it the largest political party with a majority in the 2024 elections. According to Maryam Nawaz, a “new era” for Punjab will commence immediately, following the customs established by PMLN chief Nawaz Sharif and party president Shehbaz Sharif while they were chief ministers.
