LHC rejects man’s bail over 2nd marriage sans 1st wife’s nod

LAHORE, A man contracting second marriage without first wife’s permission was taken into custody inside the courtroom after the Lahore High Court (LHC) rejected his interim bail petition on Friday.

Justice Miss Aalia Neelum heard the bail application of Ghulam Hussain of tehsil Piplan of Mianwali district, who said that he had married Kalsoom without first seeking the approval of his first wife Neelum Imtiaz, and that when the case was taken up by a civil court, he was awarded five-year jail term besides a fine of Rs0.5 million.
