LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) ordered the administration to declare a citywide emergency on Wednesday, blaming the current government for the smog-related conditions in Lahore. When the LHC heard pleas requesting the court to get involved in the case, the orders were made. Lahore Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhwa, along with other authorities, appeared before the court during today’s hearing. The government was ordered by the court not to open factories that produce black smoke, and school and college students were told to alert the authorities to any such factories. In order to tell students about the ruling regarding factories that create black smoke, it also instructed the commissioner and other officers to visit schools and institutions.
