Let’s build a gender balanced world says Dr. Bushra Maryam

Multan : Mian Fazal Rehman Hospital Mumtazabad, Multan Medical Director   Dr. Bushra Maryam  on the woman day has said that  IWD  International Woman’s Day is an important day which is regularly observed since 1975. Any International day being observed has its own significance. IWD has its own impotence and significance which can’t be denied as it represents almost half the world’s population.

This years theme for IWD is *BALANCE FOR BETTER* The future is exciting. Let’s build a gender balanced world. Collective action and shared responsibility is the key. International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women while also making a call to action for accelerating gender balance.

Gender equity means fairness of treatment for women and men, according to their respective needs. Being a medical doctor and a  professional woman, I feel privileged that I am being treated equally to my opposite gender. I stand as a woman and giving my best in the field of health professionals.

I believe I am doing my part in bringing a better balance in society. Females have a larger responsibility to balance between their professional careers and their household chores.   My message to all women mothers, sisters and daughters is that if you are balancing both your responsibilities as a professional you are doing great, she said .
