Kenyan court rules police killing of Arshad Sharif unlawful

In response to a protest from his widow, her attorney, and the local media, a Kenyan court determined on Monday that police had violated the law when it came to the 2022 murder of Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif.
When Kenyan police opened fire on Sharif’s car in October 2022, he was shot in the head. Sharif was a devoted follower of Pakistani PM Imran Khan. After being the subject of several sedition cases in various places, he departed Pakistan in August 2022. It was stated that after leaving Pakistan, he first resided in the United Arab Emirates before travelling to Kenya, where he was killed.
Last year, his widow and two Kenyan journalistic organisations filed a complaint against high-ranking police and judicial officials for Sharif’s “arbitrary and unlawful killing.”
