On Thursday, Kashmiris from Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), as well as those living on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) and throughout the rest of the world, observed India’s Independence Day as Black Day to express protest against the long-standing, illegal Indian occupation of a significant portion of the disputed state of Jammu and Kashmir and to denounce the brutal use of force against the innocent people in the held valley.
Huge anti-India protests were held throughout the day in a number of locations on both sides of the Line of Control to reaffirm the long-standing animosity against New Delhi for forcibly occupying Kashmir’s motherland for the past 77 years.
Given India’s activities in Kashmir, Mushaal Hussein Mullick has questioned the validity of the country’s Independence Day festivities.
