Justice Sayyed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi resigns as top court judge

On Wednesday, Justice Sayyed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi, who was  the subject of misbehaviour allegations, announced his resignation  from the Supreme Court (SC), citing circumstances that were “a  matter of public knowledge.” A copy of the resignation letter is available and was sent to President Dr. Arif Alvi. It was a privilege to be appointed and to hold the position of judge  at Pakistan’s Supreme Court after serving as a judge on the Lahore High Court. It is no longer possible for me to continue serving as a judge of the  Supreme Court of Pakistan due to the circumstances, which ar e a  matter of public awareness and, to some extent, public record, Justice Naqvi stated.
