Jahangir Tareen vows to work under his ‘leader’ Nawaz Sharif

Electioneering is heating up, with political parties banding together to fortify their positions ahead of the polls on February 8. Jahangir Tareen, the leader of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), expressed his excitement about collaborating with his “leader,” Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif, on Sunday. At political rally in Multan, where he is running for office on the  NA-155 seat, Tareen declared, “I will work with Nawaz Sharif as he will  be our leader once the government is formed [after the polls].” After money laundering case was brought against him while the  PTI administration was in office, Tareen—a former close aide to former Prime Minister Imran Khan who was  instrumental in the establishment of the PTI government in 2018—broke out with Khan.
