It is KP govt’s failure that it didn’t abide by PHC orders: Law Minister

Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeem Tarar emphasised in response to the opposition senators’ concerns that Article 60 of the Constitution calls for elections for the Senate chairman and deputy chairman positions as soon as the important positions become vacant.
It should be emphasised that the phrase “duly constituted” was only used since, prior to the 1973 Constitution, the Senate did not exist in our system of government. He did, however, note that the aforementioned period was not included by the Constitution’s writers with the election of the chairman.
According to Tarar, “Article 53, which deals with the National Assembly’s constitution, does not use the word ‘duly constituted,’ as it was already in place when the [1973] Constitution was drafted.”
