Our fight against terrorists, not with the civilians. They should not be harmed: President Tayyip Erdogan

Istanbul: President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says the offensive which began with air raids on is aimed at removing Kurdish led forces for creating “safe zone” at the border area.

Turkish commandos went deeper into Syrian territory east of the Euphrates river. As a withdrawal by U.S. forces opened up a dangerous new phase in the region’s eight-year-old conflict.

President Recep Tayyip Erdo ۔an directs Turkish army, Our fight in Syria is with the terrorists, not with the civilians. They should not be harmed. Our aim is to establish a corridor of peace that will guarantee peace in the region.

NATO-ally Turkey has said it intends to create a “safe zone” in order to return millions of refugees to Syria. But world powers fear the Turkish action could worsen the conflict, and run the risk of ISIS prisoners escaping from camps amid the chaos.

Senior members of U.S. President Donald Trump’s own Republican Party condemned on washington’s role for abandoning Syrian Kurds, who have been loyal allies of Washington in the fight against Islamic State in Syria (ISIS).
