ISLAMABAD: In a move to embrace technology to counter crimes, Islamabad Capital Territory Police (ICTP) on Wednesday launched its services through social networking application WhatsApp for the residents of the federal capital.
Now Islamabad residents can lodge complaints in Urdu and English languages through WhatsApp and ICT police will provide services and compliance on their complaints.
IG Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas in a video message said that ICT Police have presented all of its services to citizens via WhatsApp application and capital cops are just one click away from the citizens.
The messages to ICTP WhatsApp services will be free of cost. From your WhatsApp messenger send any message to 033-4287-4287 (033-ICTP-ICTP).
The WhatsApp service will provide manuals when a citizen approaches this number where he or she will have to choose their relevant option to proceed further. IGP Islamabad urged citizens to follow the procedure in registration of their services.
Islamabad top cop clarified that the WhatsApp service will not answer any individually sent video, message of audio and only via the given procedure.
The citizens can avail option number four to lodge online registration of their cases and to report a crime.
