Investment in GB, vital to bring economic prosperity: President

In a statement on Thursday, President Asif Ali Zardari emphasised the importance of concentrating on the socioeconomic development of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and predicted that investment in the region will lead to economic prosperity.

At Aiwan-e-Sadr, the president shared these opinions with GB Council members who had come to see him.

Senior government officials, members of the GB Council, GB Chief Minister Gulbar Khan, and Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and GB, Engineer Amir Muqam, attended the meeting.

The president was informed by the delegation on GB’s financial and developmental needs.

The president gave the group his word that efforts would be made to build transportation, health, and educational infrastructure so that the people of GB would have access to essential amenities right at their door.
