Internet shutdown necessary for security reasons: Shaza Fatima

Speaking to the media, Minister of State for Information Technology Shaza Fatima emphasised the significance of adhering to the Ministry of Interior’s directives regarding security and law and order issues.

Fatima emphasised how crucial it is to uphold law and order and guarantee national security. She also discussed continuous initiatives to reduce internet outages with the goal of giving everyone access to dependable, quick internet around-the-clock.

Fatima disclosed that the nation’s internet infrastructure will be greatly enhanced by the installation of four new underwater cables, with data transit beginning in China.

She also emphasised the importance of digital infrastructure for economic growth by pointing out that nations with thriving export markets typically have higher internet connectivity.
