In reaction to a UN report that deemed Imran Khan’s detention arbitrary and against international law, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar referred to the arrest and charges against him as a “internal matter” and urged for his release.
The law minister stated in a statement released on Tuesday that “the PTI founder has all the rights according to the country’s constitution, law, and international standards.”
Since his departure as prime, Imran has been accused of everything from terrorism to corruption.
The PTI founder was found guilty in many charges before to a national election earlier this year, and he has been behind bars since last August. In addition, he is still battling dozens of additional lawsuits.
