ISLAMABAD: Senator Sherry Rehman, the federal minister for climate change, stated on Wednesday that former prime minister Imran Khan preferred “selection” over free and fair elections.

Imran Khan, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, was denounced by the federal minister for his recent “Jail Bharu Tehreek.” Senator Rehman claimed that the person who should have been imprisoned in accordance with the law had taken protective bail and that innocent employees who had not engaged in any corruption or criminal activity were being pressured into prison. She continued by saying that Imran Khan had made numerous attempts to destabilize the nation after leaving the government.

Sherry Rehman said, “Now the new drama of the ‘Jail Bharu’ campaign is being played. He did not succeed in his goals even after resignations, long marches, demonstrations, and dissolution of assemblies.” “Imran Khan’s sole objective is to sow political unrest. Even today, he still attempts to seize power by grabbing the institutions by the feet or neck, according to Sherry Rehman. The Minister continued, “He was not serious about transparent elections before, and he was not serious about them now. If elections were his priority, he would have sat with the government to discuss the electoral framework.”
