Former prime minister Imran Khan wants a US envoy and a “ex-army general” to be called before the special court that is considering the cypher case, according to PTI attorney Babar Awan on Monday. Awan claims that Imran made these remarks during the case procedures at Adiala Jail, where he is being detained. During a press conference, he stated, “Imran Khan has said that the US embassy representative should be called and he also took the name of a former general.” Media attending today’s cypher case hearing said that Imran made reference to retired General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the former head of the army, even though the PTI counsel did not identify the former military figure.
