ISLAMABAD: Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman, the head of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), claimed on Wednesday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Imran Khan had been concealing his employees in order to avoid capture.
He described Imran Khan as a “coward” who had forced his party members to stand up against the government while also using them as a shield while speaking at a press conference here. In order to ensure Imran’s arrest for the “crimes he committed during his tenure,” the state must establish its writ. He claimed that during the administration of Imran Khan, numerous political figures were detained despite the fact that not a single accusation was ever proven in court. The JUI leader stated, “Imran Khan should show some courage and face the law,” adding that he was determined to spread chaos and anarchy.
He said the country could not be run on the whims of Imran Khan, who first abandoned the Parliament and then resorted to “inciting violence in the country”. Fazal said Imran Khan was striving to “implement his foreign agenda in the country”, but he would not be allowed to do so at any cost. He said the situation in Lahore was grim as the entire city had been turned into a battlefield causing inconvenience to the masses.
