Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the party’s leader, were cleared in two instances involving the long march vandalism on Monday by a district and sessions court in the federal capital.
Acquittal against Khan and Qureshi’s pleas was approved by Judicial Magistrate Ehtesham Alam.
PTI politicians Murad Saeed and Ali Mohammad Khan were cleared in both cases, and Asad Umar, the party’s previous leader, also received relief.
Ali and Umar both showed up in court and signed an attendance sheet. The Golra Police Station received the cases that were brought against them.
This development occurs two weeks after the founder of the PTI and other party officials were declared not guilty in comparable cases involving Section 144 violations that were reported to the police stations in Kohsar and Karachi Company.
