Improvement in urea shortage to be seen in next 48 hours: Fawad Chaudhry

Information and Broadcasting Minister Fawad Chaudhry has said that the next 48 hours will see an improvement in urea storage.

Addressing a press conference after the cabinet meeting on Tuesday, the federal minister said that Pakistan had a historic production of urea this year, adding that the price of urea in Pakistan was much lower than the international market.

There is also a problem of urea shortage in some areas,” Fawad said. “The country has abundant storage and production of urea, and the price of urea is stable. But there are reports of stockpiling and shortage. This will be fixed in the next 48 hours.

Fawad added that farmers had an additional income of Rs. 1100 billion this year.

Pakistan has seen a historic production of urea. The production of rice, maize and wheat has increased tremendously. The rural sector has seen a boom, and we are seeing it turn into more sales of tractors, cars and motorcycles.

That was because of the extra income, he said.
