Senator Ishaq Dar, the deputy prime minister and foreign minister, said Friday that it was unfortunate and showed a desperate attitude to blame Saudi Arabia for petty political point-scoring.
In response to remarks made about Saudi Arabia by the wife of PTI founder Imran Khan, the deputy prime minister issued a statement urging all political parties to refrain from undermining Pakistan’s foreign policy in the name of achieving their own political goals.
“It is unfortunate and shows a desperate attitude to blame Saudi Arabia for small political points. In order to achieve their domestic goals, we implore all political groups to refrain from jeopardising Pakistan’s foreign policy,” he stated.
He referred to Saudi Arabia and Pakistan as “close friends and brothers” and stated that the two countries’ bilateral relationship was founded on respect for one another.
