Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), filed a petition with the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday to postpone his trial in a corruption case until January 11, 2024. The PTI founder contested his indictment, the procedures, and the gag order in the cypher case by the special court constituted under the Official Secrets Act, and IHC’s Justice Miangul Hassan announced the ruling on his appeals. Judge Aurangzeb turned down the PTI chief’s request for a delay of the trial earlier in the session, saying that notices would be served by the court before a ruling was made. Regarding this, the IHC sent a notice to the federation and requested that Usman Gul, Khan’s attorney, provide the required paperwork for the cypher trial at the upcoming hearing.
