Iddat case: lawyers attack Khawar Maneka

In a regrettable development, Khawar Maneka, the ex-husband of former first lady Bushra Bibi, was attacked by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) attorneys on Wednesday while he was in the courtroom for a hearing about the un-Islamic nikah issue in an Islamabad district and sessions court.
Judge Shahrukh Arjumand left his chamber without revealing the outcome of the appeals filed by Bushra’s husband and PTI founder Imran Khan against the conviction in the iddat case.

Maneka’s solicitors had to remove him out of the courtroom as PTI solicitors threw bottles at the bench. But while Maneka was being led away, a PTI attorney struck him inside the courtroom, causing him to collapse.
