‘I am no longer scared of dying’

Gaza: 22-year-old Alia Kassan, a resident of Gaza, has said the continuous shelling that has been going on for three months has made her accustomed to the nonstop sound of the attacks, according to Al Jazeera.
“I used to get anxious. I feel nothing now,” she said to the news organisation. “I listen to bombs like a melody every day. I have overcome my fear of death.

According to Kassan, the prolonged war has also disrupted her schooling, because the bombardment of Gaza began just two months before she was set to graduate from the Islamic University of Gaza.

Palestinians held a nationwide strike in protest of Israel’s ceaseless assault in the Gaza Strip, and businesses, educational institutions, and government buildings closed throughout the occupied West Bank and annexed east Jerusalem.
