Humanitarian situation caused by Israel blot on human conscience: FO

Pakistan said that the humanitarian crisis brought on by Israel’s siege of Gaza was a stain on human conscience and strongly condemned the Israeli forces’ attack on UN peacekeepers in Lebanon on Thursday.

At her weekly press briefing, Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch categorically denounced the ruthless and random Israeli bombings on Beit Lahia that tragically claimed the lives of more than 80 Palestinians, including women and children.

According to her, war crimes include the sudden targeting of residential areas with a high population density and the collective punishment of people by denying them access to food, water, and necessary medications.

The spokeswoman informed the media that the most recent victims of Israeli violence in Lebanon were UN personnel.

She urged the international community to put pressure on Israel to immediately stop its attacks on the people of Palestine and Lebanon and to stop all hostile activities against UNIFIL. The Palestinian people should be shielded from Israeli aggression, she continued, and Israel should be held responsible for its war crimes and crimes against humanity.

She emphasised that, in honour of the 77th anniversary of the arrival of Indian soldiers in Srinagar, October 27, 2024, will be observed as “Black Day” throughout Pakistan and globally.

“The Indian occupation of their territory and continuous denial of their right to self-determination have never been tolerated by the Kashmiri people. The spokeswoman said, “Despite decades of occupation and suppression, their aspirations for their rights and liberty remain alive.”
