Musadik Masood Malik, the minister of petroleum, declared on Wednesday that the government will increase domestic production of petroleum products, such as petrol and crude oil.
Speaking at an energy symposium, he stated that the government has opened up blocks for bids and is aggressively seeking to draw in international participants for exploration endeavours.
In order to improve transparency, he said that Pakistan is open for business and that the country is dedicated to fully digitising the regulatory process.
Malik emphasised the significance of the TAPI gas pipeline project, claiming that it will result in lower gas prices.
He underlined that maintaining a steady and reasonably priced energy supply is a primary priority for the government. According to him, Pakistan now imports energy for more than $18 billion a year.
