On Thursday, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, Minister of Finance and Revenue, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to implementing comprehensive reforms in the areas of energy, taxes, and state-owned enterprises (SOEs).According to a news release, the minister was speaking with US Ambassador Donald Blome, who had paid him a visit and talked about issues of shared interest and bilateral collaboration.By addressing leaks and bringing untaxed industries into the purview of the law, Aurangzeb stated that the administration was dedicated to increasing the nation’s tax to GDP ratio to 13.5%.He claimed that the government, led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, had approved a comprehensive strategy for the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) modernisation and appointed experts to the Board of PRAL, the FBR’s IT arm.
