Govt says Imran’s ‘bribery, corruption’ proven after court ruling

The conviction of Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), in the £190 million corruption case was deemed to be a “open-and-shut case” by Information Minister Ataullah Tarar.

The information minister claimed that the Al-Qadir Trust was established with the intention of laundering illicit funds and that there was indisputable proof of bribery, corruption, and power abuse.
On Friday, Attaullah Tarar, the Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, National Heritage, and Culture, stated that the defense attorney fought the £190 million corruption case on political grounds and failed to provide any evidence to refute the prosecution’s claims.

He claimed in a television appearance that the 190 million pound scheme was Pakistan’s largest corruption case ever.
