In addition to wishing everyone a happy Saraiki Culture and Saraiki Ajrak Day on Wednesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed that the current administration would do its part to promote the regional languages, literature, and customs across the nation. In his greeting, the prime minister noted that the Saraiki region’s many colours were exquisite and that it was rich in diverse customs and civilizations. He described the Saraiki dialect as “very sweet” and mentioned that it was spoken not just in South Punjab but also in Balochistan and India. He claimed that great contributions to poetry, music, and literature had been made by Saraiki writers and the Saraiki language. According to the prime minister, the Indus Valley Civilization, which dates back thousands of years, is the source of Saraiki culture.
