Govt making efforts to provide maximum relief to public: Ishaq Dar

ISLAMABAD: The coalition government, led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, is making every effort to alleviate as much hardship as possible for the average person, according to Finance Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, who stated this on Tuesday.

He said in a statement during the National Assembly session that the oil prices had been decreased while taking into consideration a number of international issues, including the IMF dialogue and lowering oil prices in global markets. Dar added that the appropriate authorities should pass on the benefits of falling oil prices to the general public by lowering transportation costs and the cost of produce and other goods.

He said that diesel prices had been reduced by Rs 30 which meant 11 percent, while petrol prices had been brought down to 12 rupees and its benefit should be reached to the poor people.

The minister said that the government wanted to pass on the full benefit of falling international prices of petroleum products to the people.
