Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, the prime minister, stated on Tuesday that the administration had made several steps to strengthen the bureaucratic system in order to enhance the province of Balochistan’s entire governance framework. Speaking at a press conference, he stated that the province has certain long-standing and intricate problems that should be tackled by assigning a combination of honest and diligent officials from both the provincial government and the civil service. “Our issues are linked with the bad governance, that had been badly affecting the performance of the province for the last few decades,” he stated. He dispatched a team led by the capable bureaucrat Shakeel Qadir Khan at the request of the Balochistani government in order to maintain meritocracy and simplify the bureaucratic apparatus as a whole.
He said to have given the crew explicit instructions to back the Chief Minister and the province administration in this endeavour to the fullest. According to PM Kakar, a group of dishonest bureaucrats and other interested parties trampled over the entire province, seriously harming the country’s economy. The prime minister responded to a query about the nationalist parties’ concerns about holding free and fair elections in the province by saying that it was merely a normal issue because these parties had something to communicate to their supporters. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to holding free and fair elections throughout the nation and stated that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will carry out its mandate to conduct the polls in a proper manner.
