Govt committed to ensuring equal rights for all communities: PM

In a statement on the occasion of Diwali, which was observed on Thursday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the Father of the Nation, had envisioned a Pakistan where all communities enjoy equality and freedom regardless of religion, race, or caste. “My government is firmly committed to upholding these values and ensuring that each community in Pakistan enjoys equal rights and opportunities, irrespective of their beliefs,” the prime minister said, sending warm greetings to all Hindus in Pakistan and around the world on this auspice. He said that Diwali, the festival of lights, represented the victory of light over darkness and hope over despair.
