“Global warming increasing, urgent action is required: Romina

During a seminar at NUST University on Friday, Romina Khurshid Alam, the Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Climate Change, underlined Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to halting global warming and cutting carbon emissions.

She emphasized Pakistan’s legitimate participation in international climate talks, especially during COP 29, where the country made a substantial contribution to talks meant to address the world’s climate catastrophe.

Speaking to the crowd, Romina Khurshid emphasized the dire reality of global warming and the failure to meet the 1.5°C warming objective set forth in the Paris Agreement.

“Global warming is gradually increasing, and urgent action is required,” she stated.

She commended Pakistan’s leadership in balancing the interests of wealthy and developing countries and securing agreement on Article 6 following nine years of discussions.
