On Monday, Senate Chairman Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani called for the adoption of laws and the development of policies that would lessen the use of single-use plastics, encourage recycling, and encourage the development of creative alternatives.
In his remarks on World Earth Day, the Senate chairman emphasised the need of teamwork in achieving major advancements towards a healthier and cleaner planet for present and future generations.
He emphasised how critical it is to solve environmental issues, especially the harm that single-use plastics do to ecosystems. He stressed how the subject for this year, “Planet vs. Plastic,” is relevant to the effort to stop plastic pollution.
