Gaza faces rising disease, aid shortage amid humanitarian crisis: UN

UN humanitarian officials issued a warning as living conditions in Gaza deteriorate further, citing reports of a rise in diarrhoea and possible cases of Hepatitis A.

UNRWA, the UN organisation aiding Palestine refugees, stated in a post on X that while it is still doing its utmost to offer healthcare, the combination of forced displacement, crowded shelters, and inadequate sanitary facilities pose serious health hazards.

In addition, a lot of people cannot afford potable water, so they are burning rubbish to cook with, according to the UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

Serious worries also exist regarding the possibility that the enclave’s humanitarian efforts “are near collapse.”

In a bulletin, the UN World Food Programme (WFP) issued a warning if food and humanitarian supplies do not start to reach Gaza.
