Gaza death toll surpasses 10,000, including over 4000 children

Since October 7, Israeli strikes on Gaza have killed at least 10,022 Palestinians, including 4,104 children, according to the health ministry in Gaza, which is controlled by Hamas. The US Navy has announced in public that a nuclear submarine is being sent to the Middle East, more precisely to the US Central Command’s area of responsibility. This is an unprecedented move. Although the report did not identify the sub, it is thought to be one of the four guided missile submarines (SSGNs) of the Ohio class that the US Navy possesses. Originally designed as ballistic missile submarines, these SSGNs were modified to fire Tomahawk cruise missiles. Amid rising tensions in the Middle East, this move is widely perceived as a clear deterrent to regional adversaries, especially Iran.
