Forests are important in fight against climate change: Commissioner Shoaib Iqbal Syed

Chichawatni: A special event was held at Government Girls College Sahiwal on the occasion of World Forest Day in which teachers and students planted saplings in the lawn of BS Block. The Chief Guest of the event was Commissioner Sahiwal Division Shoaib Iqbal Syed while Additional Commissioner Coordination Shafiq Ahmed Dogar, Director Colleges Professor Muhammad Masood Faridi, Director Public Relations Muhammad Aqeel Ashfaq, Divisional Forest Officer Malik Waseem Sajjad and Media Consultant Ayesha Meraj along with Principal Naghmana were present on the occasion. A large number of teachers and students were also present.

Commissioner Shoaib Iqbal Syed distributed the plants among the students and instructed them to take the responsibility of watering the plants so that the plants remain with them for life. He said that forests are very important to protect against climate change, so all sections of the society should plant trees in large numbers under the plantation campaign. He said that the fight against global warming is possible only with trees. Commissioner Shoaib Iqbal Syed exhorted the students and youth not only to plant and protect them themselves but also to involve others in this good work.
