UN humanitarian officials said that some of the tens of thousands of people who were uprooted in response to Israeli evacuation orders had to turn back because they could find nowhere to shelter as a result of Israeli bombing that continued through Thursday night in the beleaguered Gaza.
UNRWA, the UN agency for Palestine refugees, said UN News, a media outlet, “Thousands are sheltering in UNRWA schools…and government buildings,” and that others “are already beginning to turn back, telling us of lack of spaces in other areas.”
Additionally, UNRWA restated their alerts that the piles of trash and garbage stacked next to makeshift shelters and beside roads indicate that living circumstances are “beyond unbearable.”
