ISLAMABAD: In a telephonic conversation with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Pakistan’s post-flood rehabilitation, food security for developing nations, and the Black Sea Grain Initiative were all topics of discussion. The Foreign Minister expressed his gratitude to the UN Secretary General for his vision and backing of Pakistan’s flood response on his Twitter account. He emphasised the difficulties developing nations confront in maintaining food security if supply chains are disrupted. The foreign minister discussed ways to restart the deadlocked Black Sea Grain Initiative while taking into account the concerns of all stakeholders.
Bilawal Bhutto also addressed the recurring reprehensible and condemnable acts of desecration of the Holy Quran. He urged upon collective UN action to formulate a comprehensive strategy for tackling Islamophobia.
