ISLAMABAD : Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Tuesday chaired federal cabinet meeting in Islamabad and discussed nine-point agenda including Kashmir conflict.
As per the details, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi briefed the cabinet on progress so far made on the Kashmir issue while the situation after the UNSC session was also came under discussion.
The cabinet also reviewed the situation along the Line of Control (LoC) and recommendations of the Special Committee on Kashmir.
The meeting also got briefing from the Federal Minister for Communications Murad Saeed to review its one-year performance. The prime minister expressed confidence on the performance.
Later, addressing a press conference in Islamabad after federal cabinet meeting, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the Imran Khan apprised the cabinet in detail about his telephonic conversation with President Trump. He had informed the President Trump that India plans to perpetrate genocide of Kashmiris to change the demographic composition of the occupied region.
The premier urged the President Trump that international community must play its role, constitute a fact finding mission and stop India from its brutalities in Kashmir.
Imran Khan emphasized that Kashmir is first line of defense for Pakistan. He emphasized that all elements including the media should intensify their campaign on raising voice against the designs of Narendra Modi to annex Kashmir.
She said that federal cabinet has approved Pak-Turkey Strategic Economic Framework to forge stronger cooperation between Pakistan and Turkey, adding that PM Imran Khan will head the high-level cooperation committee from Pakistan side while Turkish side will be headed by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
