The government’s commitment to implementing its reform program in order to achieve equitable and sustainable growth has been underlined by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb.
He was addressing during a meeting in Islamabad today with a high-level team from the Asian Development Bank, led by Executive Director Donald Bobiash.
According to the Minister, Pakistan’s reliance on foreign borrowing would stop when structural benchmarks are met, providing macroeconomic stability with longevity.
The good growth trajectory represented in key economic statistics, such as the notable fall in inflation, which dropped from a peak of 38 percent last year to a 44-month low of 6.9 percent last month, was also summarised by him, along with the ongoing structural changes.
Speaking on the occasion,. Donald Bobiash sent his gratitude to Pakistan for the audacious measures it implemented to achieve economic stability and long-term growth.
Additionally, he pledged the bank’s support for Pakistan’s efforts towards equitable growth, innovation, and climate action, as well as its development goals.
