According to a report on Monday, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has voiced his concern about the lack of commerce with surrounding nations as the current government works to stabilise the nation’s economy.
Although Aurangzeb acknowledged that any “political connotations” or “geopolitical discussions” involved were outside his purview, he told the publication, “Not trading with your neighbours does not make sense.”
All intergovernmental organisations are essentially “regional corridors,” the finance czar said, adding, “We recently had a Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) conference, and we are very keen to join BRICS organisation, that is because we want to join trade organisations or corridors, and I think that’s the right thing to do.”
